The sensor in this type of transmitter has two ports one is high port and the other is low port. A
diaphragm is present between these two ports that is high side and low side. One side of the
diaphragm receives pressure from high port while the other receives pressure from the low port.
Any difference in pressure created between the two ports causes the diaphragm to flex and divert
from its normal resting position.
This flexing is then translated into an output signal by using different technologies depending on the
DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TRANSMITTER SUPPLIERS and the model of the transmitter. These
transmitter are generally used to compare different type of pressure. An increasing pressure applied
to the high port of a differential pressure transmitter will drive the output signal to a greater level
while an increasing pressure applied to the low port of a differential pressure transmitter will drive
the output signal to a lesser level.
